Something to hum when no one's around to say goodnight.
Bedtime and the house is bare
The curtains rustle in the air
No one around to say goodnight
So here upon these downy pillows lie
And hum a self-sung lullaby ‘till morning light
These walls are much too paper thin
To keep the cold from getting in
So if in shivers you awake
Wrap yourself in blankets warm and dry
And hum a self-sung lullaby 'till morning light
You’re cloaked from your head to your toes
Yet even still you feel exposed
So draw your arms and elbows near
Hush your fears and close your weary eyes
And hum a self-sung lullaby...
